HR Generalist - exempt

Abrasive Technology currently has an opening for an energetic professional to join our Associate Development & Resources team as a Human Resources Generalist. The position is located in Lewis Center, Ohio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position include:
•Develop and maintain relationships with employment agencies, recruiters, universities, technical schools and other sources of talent as part of a proactive recruitment strategy
•Recruiting, screening, interviewing and making offers for all exempt and non-exempt positions
•Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs
•Maintain HR policies and make updates to our company’s Associate Guidebook
•Partner with Leadership to communicate HR policies, practices and laws with all associates
•Complete various compliance reports including EEO-1 and VETS-100
•Create and monitor the company’s Affirmative Action Plan annually
•Manage Associate Relations, including conducting investigations and advising on and administering disciplinary action as needed
•Review and process all claims for unemployment
•Complete current and previous employment verifications for credit agencies, banks, etc.
•Update HRIS system with new hires, benefits, training records. Pull reports from system as needed and requested by others
•Completion of Salary Surveys
•Other duties and projects as assigned
Education, training, experience:
•Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field
•Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR) preferred
•2-5 years of Human Resources experience, including recruiting/sourcing experience
•Demonstrated experience in effectively managing multiple projects, detailed information, prioritization and consistency in meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment
•Knowledge of changing employment laws and how to effectively apply them
•Ability to adapt well to a changing environment
•Proficient use of MS Office
•Ability to handle confidential information
•Experience in a Manufacturing environment a plus
•Ability to travel up to 10% including some overnight travel
•Availability for 2nd and/or 3rd shift meetings as necessary
