Job description:
Under the direction of the Director, Human Resources, the Labor Relations Specialist will establish and maintain labor/management relations. May lead monthly labor management meetings. Develops and administers the organization's labor relations policies, with guidance and approval from HR Director and/or Divisional SR. VP Human Resources/senior leadership. Interprets and administers collective bargaining agreements and participates in collective bargaining meetings. Acts as a consultant to senior management. Will make policy recommendations on labor relations matters; assist in the resolution of grievances and disciplinary matters; prepare Memoranda of Understanding and other documents relating to Labor Relations assignments; provide advice, training, interpretation, and orientation of union contract-related issues to operating department managers and others; assure compliance with bargained agreements; other duties as assigned. Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and communication skills are required.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Bachelors' Degree and 2-4 years of experience in a unionized environment handling grievances and negotiating collective bargaining agreements or Associates' Degree in Paralegal studies with 4-8 years of experience (in a law firm or in a unionized environment handling grievances and negotiating collective bargaining agreements) in lieu of Bachelors' degree and experience.Masters Preferred in Human Resources/Business/Labor Relations.
