Position Summary:

The Payroll Manager is responsible for providing vision, leadership, planning,
project coordination, and management for the development of best practice
payroll processes while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to meet
current and future business needs within the HR organization. Responsible for
analyzing and directing all functional related activities within the scope of payroll
and HRIS. This position is accountable for ensuring continuity and successful
delivery of functional services to users throughout the organization.

Specific Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities of this position will include the following:
This position involves working within and managing the payroll team to
ensure error-free and timely completion of payroll, compensation, and
taxes related tasks.

Establish and document more efficient processes and own the
administration of all aspects of compensation packages which might
include raises, bonuses, 401(k), and other incentives.

Provide superior customer service to the leadership team and plant
level HR staff, preparing and communicating payroll information for
executive evaluation, and implementing compensation-related
decisions.

Develop optimal payroll strategies/plans that align with the Company’s
strategic business plan.

Provide superior customer services that are cost effective, accurate
and timely, reflecting effective payroll programs, processes and
services that are technology driven.

Manage the execution of year end processes for payroll and payroll
related taxes.

Facilitate the individual development and succession planning
processes to strengthen the skills in the payroll department.

Assume a leadership role in the formulation, communication, and
execution of Payroll related initiatives.

Provide personal and professional growth opportunities, resources and
counsel for associates and teams to maximize performance.

Must maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage
and hour laws.

Must maintain current Payroll system to achieve alignment with HR
initiatives and to ensure effective accounting support.

Must facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll
procedures by documenting processes and implementing training
strategies.

Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross
payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, etc.) for
management.

Collaborate with Department Heads to develop needs assessment,
share findings, and implemented recommended procedures.

Provide leadership to payroll staff, maximizing professional
development, as well as fostering a cohesive, team-oriented
professional environment.

Critically review and analyze current payroll and tax procedures in
order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice
operations.

Audit payroll balances, YTD earnings, etc.

Communicate actively with relevant corporate business unit
constituents to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data
sharing.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Experience/Education:

A minimum of 10 years experience in Payroll Management
role, including 4+ years in a role that standardized processes
between corporate and the manufacturing environment.

A minimum of 3 years of experience managing staff.

A minimum of 5 years supervisory implementation experience
with payroll and HRIS systems.

A minimum of 3 years of experience with executive level
compensation.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Finance
or related areas. Master’s Degree preferred.

SPHR and CPA preferred.

Experience as a certified payroll professional is highly
desirable.
