OH - Human Resources Specialist
Columbus, OH 43215 United States
We are seeking a team player who enjoys a fast paced environment to serve in a significant and confidential support role in the Human Resources Department. We are an insurance company with offices throughout the United States with a medium size employee base locally. This position will allow you to grow as a professional and have fun in the process.
-Recruit, screen and schedule interviews for applicants.
-Perform reference and background checks.
-Prepare and extend offers.
-Manage vendor relationships.
-Maintain and administer educational reimbursement programs.
-Enter information in HRIS database and generate reports.
-Conduct new hire orientation.
-Assist employees with HR related questions.
-Handle benefit requests including FMLA and leave questions.
-Performs employment verifications.
-Participate or lead special employee events, such as wellness events.
Education, training, experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2-4 years HR experience.
Effective oral and written communication skills are critical.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, analyze and make recommendations.
Excellent computer skills.
Knowledge of the current HR laws.
