HR Generalist - exempt
Looking for a dynamic individual to work with a dynamic company!
Position Purpose: The HR Representative will assist the Area HR Manager in providing HR support to 116 union and 21 salaried employees at our Kent, Ohio Dairy Foods facility. Other responsibilities include: employee and labor relations; maintaining records; preparing data; hourly recruitment, staffing, and onboarding; and supporting regulatory programs and training.
As HR Rep, you'll assist the Area HR Manager in leading labor relations initiatives and programs including preparation for contract negotiations, arbitrations, and grievance meetings and will act as a back-up to the Area HR Manager when the manager is out of the plant.

Education, training, experience:
Required (Basic) Experience & Education: Bachelors degree in human resources or a related field is required.
2+ years of experience in Human Resources
Ability to work alternative shifts/schedules is required, when needed.
Strong communication and organizational skills
Handles all HR matters confidentially and with great tact and professionalism.
Ability to effectively collaborate with local, regional, and corporate HR teams to achieve plant objectives.
Required Competencies & Other Skills:
Provides direction and counsel regarding human resources to plant operations and serves as a key resource to Area HR Manager, Plant Manager(s) and staff. Provides coaching and counseling to employees and managers and recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures. Serves as first point of HR contact in the absence of the Area HR Manager.
Supports the development, application, and interpretation of labor relations policies and practices. Provides interpretation of union contract and educates management team in interpretation and understanding of contract.
Masters degree and experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
