The Ohio Water Development Authority is a self-funded agency of the State of Ohio. OWDA offers loans to local government entities in Ohio for the purpose of financing infrastructure for drinking water and wastewater needs. Funds for the loan programs are raised by issuing water development notes and bonds.

Company History

The Ohio Legislature created the Ohio Water Development Authority in 1968 under the Ohio Revised Code 6121 to manage and protect Ohio's water resources for public health and safety. This is done mainly through the financing of local governmental drinking water facilities and waste water facilities in the form of loans.

Notable Accomplishments / Recognition

Has provided $13B in loans to local government entities during the agency's existence for the development of drinking water and wastewater infrastructure.
